Maple adds a straight forward yet mild smoke to your outdoor cooking. Maple grilled fish is a favorite at our house. You will receive 10 pieces of 1 inch by 5 1/2 inch milled air dried maple wood sample pack.. No bark or pitchy knots. Our Smoking wood is professionally harvested from managed forest lands of west central Wisconsin. The trees not diseased or bug ridden, just selectively thinned to enhance a healthier forest. Our smoking woods are only harvested in the winter time when the sap is not present. Sap is sugar and burnt sugar smoke can make a bitter taste. For the best and the longest lasting smoke, wrap individual pieces of wood in aluminum foil with the ends open a little. Place several around your charcoal or gas fire and watch the smoke roll. Ashes remain contained in the aluminum foil for easy clean up on gas grills. This method may give you several smokey cookouts from the pack.
