    SERVICING INFORMATION
    HOOD LOCK: To release and open hood, lift safety latch pad under center of hood. Hold hood open far enough to release
    support rod from its brack et, then raise hood while raising the support rod. Place free end of support rod in hole provided
    under hood.
    To lower hood, lift it slightly with one hand while grasping the support rod with the other hand. Then lower the hood
    and support rod. Be sure the support rod is placed over the safety catch and its free end secured under the hood support
    bracket rubber at the right. Then push do wn on the hood to engage the latch.
    BATTERY LOCATION: Right side, under hood. Size – 12 volts, 40 ampere hour, 54 plate. Optional - 55 ampere hour, 54
    plate. Negative terminal grounded.
    RADIATOR DRAIN: Drain cock, left, bottom of radiator.
    BLOCK DRAIN: Drain cock right side of cylinder block, in front of starter.
    RADIATOR CAP: Press ure cooling with valve in radiator cap set at 12 to 15 pounds. The cap must always be turned down
    tightly to maintain pressure in the system. Caution – Turn cap to stop before removing to allow any pressure in system to be
    relieved through overflow pipe. Coolant level should be about 1" below bottom of filler neck.
    GAS TANK FILLER: Sedan - Cap at center, below trunk lid lock. Turn cap counterclock wise to remo ve it. Station Wagon -
    On left, near tail light.

    LUBRICATION SERVICE INFORMATION
    Figures and numeral printed in italics and enclosed in parenthesis, as (D-1), refer
    to illustrations and descriptions appearing on the MobtI Lubrication Disc Chart which
    are applicable to 1960 construction.
    TRANSMISSION, CONVENTIONAL (D-1): Standard - Check lubricant level every 1000 miles. Add lubricant as required.
    Drain and refill every 10,000 miles or seasonally. Never steam clean or use kerosine or solvents to flush housing.
    Filler Opening and Level Gauge: Transmission - One plug in right side of housing.
    Drain: One plug in bottom of housing.
    COMET DRIVE (D-5): Optional - Check fluid level every 1000 miles, To make this check, apply hand brake tightly, move
    selector lever to "p" position and idle engine until fluid reaches normal operating temperature. Clean dirt around dipstick on
    right side of transmission, under hood. Move selector to all positions and return to "p" position. Remo ve dipatick. Fluid
    should be at "F" mark on dipstick. Use Mobilfluid 200. Drain and refill the housing every 25,000 miles.

    and approved instructions.
    REAR AXLE (HYPOID GEARS) (D-6): Check lubricant every 1000 miles. Add lubricant as required. Drain and refill every
    10,000 miles or seasonally. Never steam clean or use kerosine or solvents to flush housing.
    Filler Opening and Level Gauge: Plug in front, on right side of differential carrier.
    Drain: No drain plug. Use suction qun in filler hole or remove rear cover plate.
    OIL FILTER (K-1): Full flow type. Filter is threaded on to left side of engine. Replace every 5000 miles.
    AIR CLEANER: (K-2): Dry element type. Shake to knock off dust every 1000 miles. Replace every 10,000 miles.
    CRANKCASE VENTILATOR AIR CLEANER AND OIL FILLER CAP: Clean mesh in breather cap, in valve rocker arm cover,
    with Sovasol No. 5 every 1000 miles. Oil with Mobiloil AF before replacing.
    TRANSMISSION, CLUTCH AND HAND BRAKE LINKAGE: Apply Mobiloil Arctic every 1000 miles.
    FUEL FILTER: Replace fuel filter in line between fuel pump and carburetor every 10,000 miles or at least once a year.
