    (7) Add 1 quart when equipped with heater. When car is equipped with air conditioning, use permanent-type anti-freeze, Mobil
Permazone, all year. In summer the system should be protected down to + 15°F. Drain the cooling system at least once a
year, preferably in the spring. Always use at least 20% of the permanent-type anti-freeze to insure adequate protection
    against corrosion.

    LUBRICATION SERVICE INFORMATION
Figures and numerals printed in italies and enclosed in parenthenin, an (D-1), refer
to illustrations and deseriptions appearing on the Mobilubrication Disc Chart which
    are applicable to 1960 construction.
FRONT SUSPENSION - Movement of each lower control arm is controlled by a torsion bar, rather than a coil apring. The
torsion bar in hex-shaped at each end. The front end is anchored in the lower control arm while the rear end is anchored in
engine rear support cross member. Movement of the lower control arm tends to twist the torsion bar. Front car height can be
changed by adjusting, twis ting, the torsion bar at its rear end. The ateering knuckle is mounted on ball joints in the upper
and lower control arms and are the only points in the front suspension requiring lubrication, a total of four points.
    TRANSMISSION (3 SPEED CONVENTIONAL)(D-1)- Standard on PD1, PD2, PD3, PD4. Check lubricant le vel every 1000
miles. Add lubricant as required. Drain and refill every 10,000 miles.
Filler Opening and Level Gauge: Plug in right side of housing.
Drain: Plug on right side of housing, near bottom.
    POWERFLITE TRANSMISSION (D-5) - Optional on PD1, PD4. TORQUEFLITE 6 (D-5) - Optional on PD3. TORQUE FLITE
TRANSMISSION (D-5) Standard on D500. Optional on PD1, PD2, PD4. Check fluid level every 1000 miles. To make this
check, apply the hand brake and push the "N' (Neutral) button. Idle the engine for a few minutes and then push selector
buttons through all ranges and back to "N" position. Dipstick and filler hole on right side are reached from under hood.
Remove all dirt from around dipstick. With engine still idling, remove dipstick. The fluid level should be at the "F" mark or
slightly below, but never above the "F" mark when the engine is at its normal warm condition. If it is necessary to check the
fluid level w hen the transmission is cold, the fluid level should be at or slightly below the "L" or the "Add One Pint" mark.
Maintain le vel with Mobilfluid 200.
Drain transmission every 10,000 miles or more freguently when the car is driven under any of the following condi-
tions: Police car or taxicab operation; Frequent towing of trailers; Frequent heavy traffic in hot weather; Continuous opera-
    tion
on at higher than normal loading. See Mobilubrication Bulletin " Correct Lubrication of Automatic and Semi-A utomatic
Transmissions for complete and approved instructions.
REAR AXLE: (D-6) (Hypoid Gears) - Clean dirt from around filler hole, remove filler plug and check lubricant level every
1000 miles. Add lubricant as required to maintain level between bottom of filler plug and 1/2" below. Drain and refill at
    least every 10,000 miles.
"Sure-Grip" limited slip differential optional and can be identified by letter "S' stamped directly after the stamped
ratio on the lower side of the carrier case. After draining, refill with Mobilube GX90.
Filler Opening and Level Gauge: Right side of drive pinion carrier.
Drain: Drain plug in bottom of housing.
POWER STEE RING (K-3) – Constant Control optional. Check oil level in reservoir at rear or generator every 1000 miles. Be-
fore removing the reservoir cap to check the le vel, wipe the outside of the cap and housing so that no dirt can fall into the
reservoir. Remove the cap, but do not remove or disturb the filter element under any circumstances. Maintain fluid level with
Mobilfluid 200. Replace cap. Fluid from reservoir also lubricates steering gear.
MANIFOLD HEAT CONTROL: Place a few drops of graphited kerosine on each end of shaft every 1000 miles, when exhaust
manifold is cool, to keep shaft free. If shaft becomes frozen, free it by tapping each end of the shaft lightly with a hammer.
Work valve back and forth a few times.
SPEEDOMETER: Every 5000 miles remove oil tube with wick from speedometer housing. Saturate wick with Mobiloil Arctic.
HANDBRAKE LINKAGE: Apply Mobiloil Arctic every 1000 miles.
OIL FILTER: (K-1) Dart 6 – Full flow type. Dart V8 - Shunt type. Filter element should be replaced every 5000 miles or
more often in dusty territories and under cold weather operation. Dodge V8, D500 – Screw on type, full flow filter. Replace
    complete filter every 5000 miles.
AIR CLEANER: (K-2) Dry type cleaner is standard. Remove element from its container every 1000 miles and with com-
pressed air gently blow out the dirt. The compressed air nozzle should be held about 1" from the inside screen. Under severe
dust conditions, it may be necessary to clean the element more often. Install a new element every 10,000 miles.
CRANKCASE VENTILATOR AIR CLEANER: In oil filter pipe cap on all models. Wash element in Sovasol No. 5 and dry
thoroughly, every 1000 miles or more frequently under severe dust conditions. Oil element with Mobiloil A. Allow excess
oil to drain from element before replacing it.
GEARSHIFT LEVER: PD1, PD3, PD4 - Every 10,000 miles, remove the rubber boot, pivot pin assembly and gear shift
lever. Lubricate ball end and pivot pin hole areas generously with Mobilgrease 5 or MP. Reassemble.
AIR CONDITIONING: Optional on all except Dart 6.
    POWER BRAKES: Optional on all.
