To facilitate uniformly satisfactory Mobilubrication, a single mileage has been adopted for similar units operating unde
the same conditions on all cars. The recommended frequencies shown are 1000, 5000, 10,000, 15,000 and 20,000 miles.
These frequencies may sometimes vary from those shown in instruction books of various car manufacturers.

    LUBRICATION SERVICE INFORMATION
Figures and numerals printed in italics and enclosed in parenthesis, as (D- I), refer
to illustrations and descriptions appearing on the Mobilubrication Disc Chart which
    are applicable to 1960 construction.
FRONT SUSPENSION: - Movement of each lower control arm is controlled by a torsion bar, rather than a coll spring. The
torsion bar is hex-shaped at each end. The front end is anchored in the lower control arm while the rear end in anchored in
the engine rear support cross member. Movement of the lower control arm tends to twist the torsion bar. Front car height can
be changed by adjusting, twisting, the torsion bar at ite rear end. The steering knuckle in mounted on ball joints in the upper
and lower control arma and are the only points in the front suspension requiring lubrication, a total of four points.
TRANSMISSION (D-1) - Standard. Check lubricant level every 1000 miles. Add lubricant as required to maintain level at
bottom of filler hole. Drain and refill every 10,000 miles.
Filter Opening and Level Gauge: Plug in transmission housing.
Drain: Plug in bottom of housing.
TORQUE FLITE (D-5). Optional - Check fluid level every 1000 miles. To make this check, apply the parking brake and push
the "N" (Neutral) button. Idle the engine for a few minutes and then push each selector button, stopping momentarily at each
position, ending in "N" position. Dipstick and filler hole on right side are reached from under hood. Remo ve all dirt from
around dipstick. With engine still idling, remove dipstick. The fluid level should check at the "F" mark, or slightly below,
but never above the "F" mark when the engine is at its normal warmed condition. If it in necessary to check the fluid le vel
when the transmission is cold, the fluid level should be at, or slightly below the "L" or the "Add One Pint" mark. Mainta in
level with Mobilfluid 200 but do not overfill. To prevent dirt from entering the transmission make sure the dipstick cap is
    seated tightly.
Drain transmission every 10,000 miles or more frequently when the car is driven under any of the following conditions: Police
car or taxicab operation; Frequent towing of trailers; Frequent heavy traffic in hot weather; Continuous operation at higher
than normal loading. See Mobilubrication Bulletin "Correct Lubrication of Automatic and Semi-A utomatic Transmissions" for
    complete and approved instructions.
REAR AXLE: (D-6) – (Hypold Gears) - Clean dirt from around filler hole, remove filler plug and check lubricant level every
1000 miles. Add lubricant as required to maintain level at bottom of filler plug hole. Drain and refill at least every 10,000
    miles.
Filler Opening and Level Gauge: Plug in housing cover.
Drain: Drain plug in bottom of housing.
POWER STEERING (K-3) - Cons tant Control optional. Check oil level in reservoir every 1000 miles. Before removing the
reservoir cap to check the level wipe the outside of the cap and housing so that no dirt can fall into the reservoir. Lift off
the cap. Maintain fluid at full mark with Mobilfluid 200. Replace cap. Fluid from reservoir also lubricates s teering gear.
MANIFOLD HEAT CONTROL: Place a few drops of graphited kerosine on each end of shaft every 1000 miles, when exhaust
manifold is cool, to keep shaft free. If shaft becomes frozen, free it by tapping each end of the shaft lightly with a hammer.
Work valve back and forth a few times.
SPEEDOMETER: Remove ol tube with wick from speedometer housing every 10,000 miles. Saturate wick with Mobiloil Arctic.
OIL FILTER: (K-1) - Full flow filter standard. Replace element every 5000 miles or more often in dusty territories and under
    cold weather operation.
AIR CLEANER: (K-2) – Dry type cleaner is standard. Every 1000 miles or more frequently under severe dust conditions
remove element from its container and gently blow dirt out with compressed air. The compressed air nozzle should be held
about 1" from the inside screen. Clean the metal housing and reinstall the element. Install new element every 10,000 miles.
CRANKCASE VENTILATOR AIR CLEANERS: In oil filler pipe cap. Wash element in Sovasol No. 5 and dry thoroughly,
every 1000 miles or more frequently under severe dust conditions. Oil element with Mobiloil A. Allow excess oil to drain
    from element, before replacing it.
    POWER BRAKES: Optional.
