Hickory Nut Hulls – 1 Pound (lb.)
Harvested this October (Fall of 2021) from Shag and Shell Bark Hickory Nut trees that have been on our homestead for at least 70 years. These handpicked hulls prove the saying of “good things come in small packages,” and we certainly agree!
*Each purchase comes with a handmade, reusable cloth bag.
As these hulls are fresh and still in the drying process, do not use until completely cured (unless for means that do not require hulls to be dry).
Orders Placed October-December 2021:
Upon receipt of the hulls, immediately allow the drying process to continue by removing the hulls from the bag and placing on a tray or within a box (a receptacle that allows airflow is ideal). Avoid leaving the hulls in areas that could promote the growth of mold or mildew. Once cured, hulls will harden, darken in color and will have more of a wood-like appearance.
