Mobil pegagus red white pre-owned sign cover year of manufacture unknown

This is a Mobil Pegagus sign, the red flying horse from Greek mythology, depicted on a white plastic surface, 12 3/4 inches diameter. I have always loved this graceful horse from the Mobil Oil Co. I always wanted a Mobil collectible so I bought this on eBay several years back from a reputable dealer who said this was a vintage or older item. It is definitely used, with some light scratches, not very visible, on the front but not on the horse. I think this might have been a sign cover; I don't believe it came from a very old gas pump because those were concave. I can't pin down how old this is because there are no markings.
