REGAL CHINA ALICE IN WONDERLAND TWEEDLE DEE & DUM SHAKERS W.D.P. - 70 YEARS OLD!

- Rare - Regal China Company Alice In Wonderland Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum Salt & Pepper Shakers Marked “Walt Disney Productions” 1951 in Excellent Condition!
THESE ARE A RARE REGAL CHINA COMPANY HAND PAINTED ALICE IN WONDERLAND TWEEDLE DEE & TWEEDLE DUM SET OF SALT & PEPPERS SHAKERS. THEY ARE FROM THE 1951 ALICE IN WONDERLAND TEA SET. THESE WONDERFUL SHAKERS EACH HAVE “© WALT DISNEY PRODUCTIONS INCISED ON THEIR BACKSIDES AND THEIR NAMES INCISED ON THE BOTTOM. THEY NO LONGER HAVE THEIR ORIGINAL SHAKER CORKS.
You are bidding on a very hard to find Alice In Wonderland Tea Set Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum Salt & Pepper Shakers. Each shaker measures approximately 4 3/4” tall. These shakers are sturdy and heavy. They are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, breaks or visible crazing. There is one “glaze pop” on the top side of Tweedle Dee’s nose that appears to be under glaze. The tips of both shaker’s black shoes do show slight paint loss and on Tweedle Dum’s brownish/red pants there is slight paint loss, but under glaze. Their hand painted and airbrushed colors remain bright and vivid.
The Regal China Company produced these very limited © Walt Disney Productions Alice In Wonderland Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum Shakers in 1951 at the same time when Disney released its Feature Film on July 28th. The Regal Pottery Company was established in 1938 and remained in business for more than 50 years. It was located in Antioch, Illinois. Regal China was known for its high quality, non-porous, china and for the rich colored glazes that they used. Even the earlier pieces of Regal China are seldom found with any crazing.
Regal China only produced this remarkable Alice In Wonderland Tea Set for Disney and not for any other Disney movie or character. This is perhaps the reason why the Regal China Alice In Wonderland Tea Set is considered by many to be the "Holy Grail" of Disney China! Combine this one-time distribution (with only manufacturing about 100 of these hand made Alice in Wonderland Tea Sets) then add 70 years to the original creation date, and you're looking at some very rare pieces!
The entire Alice In Wonderland Tea Set consists of a Alice Cookie Jar, a White Rabbit Sugar and Creamer, a King of Hearts Water Jug, a Mad Hatter Teapot, Alice Salt and Pepper Shakers, along with matching Tweedledee and Tweedledum Shakers. Occasionally pieces are found with gold trim.
