ROSEVILLE POTTERY EARLY VELMOSS JARDINIERE SHAPE 578-9"

Description

Circa 1916's, this Roseville Pottery Early Velmoss Jardiniere, shape number 579-9", stands 9" tall, has an inside rim to rim opening of 9", is approximately 10.5" in diameter, and sits on a base that is approximately 5.75" across. Finished in several shades of a mottled green with pink peeking thru, both the inside-outside base is glazed in an orange color. Fantastic mold and glaze application, it is decorated with three rows of large raised leaves all around. In overall good condition, as pictured, there is a small non-factory hole at the base. Unmarked, the same shape in a smaller size and glaze can be seen on page 123 in Understanding Roseville Pottery by Mark Bassett.
