Description
Original 1929 fold-out Standard Oil Company road map of New York State, printed more than 90 years ago.This map opens to 28" x 22" and has great detail on old highway alignments, with cartography by the General Drafting Company.
There are inset plans of Albany, Buffalo, and western Nassau County.
On the reverse side there is a place-name index and a road map of the metropolitan New York City area which locates more than 20 ferry lines in operation at the time.
This map was published by the Standard Oil Company of New York in 1929 to promote its Socony brand gasoline and motor oil, and is dated on the front cover.
The back cover includes an illustration of Socony's distinctive red gas pump.
