Vintage Piedmont Airlines Ticket Holder Jacket - 1980s / Used - BWI CLT

This item is a vintage Piedmont Airlines Ticket Holder Envelope from the 80’s with flight information on front & luggage tags stapled to inside of envelope.
I did not see a date referenced on the envelope but I believe it is from the mid to early 80’s. The flight info on the front shows the flight going to BWI (Baltimore Washington International) connecting to CLT (Charlotte). On the inside it shows the luggage to arrive at Greenville/Spartanburg SC per the luggage claim stubs.
The ticket envelope is standard size – approx.
3 7/8” x 8 ¼”. The envelope is used, shows wear and has numerous staple holes from tickets being originally held inside. There are also remnants of the red carbon copy ink from tickets, which if you traveled back then, you would definitely remember. The back on the envelope has contact phone numbers. As you may note, none of the numbers except toll-free have their area codes listed.

Over the past couple of years, I have been tasked with going through my parent's and grandparent's possessions - two separate households with items spanning their whole lives. This has been a long, arduous process and will take many years to complete.

With each and every item, I try to supply as much detail as I can whether it is from my recollection / memories, internet research, or by matching it up with other pieces I have found. Each item tells a story for which I am grateful to now be able to document as a way of keeping some of the history of my family which is now gone. I wish I could keep a lot of it but I haven't the room.
