wow today saw someone else with same matches but match heads are white, selling for .99 for a single book.
Found these match;s up in rafters, after cleaning warehouse after Hurricane Sandy.Mobil Oil had a barge and tug fleet.I worked at one of the Ports in NYC. Mobil got out of the Marine transportation in the North East in early 90's.these match's were stored up high in wooden box's I cant imagine any more exist other then these. would say these match's are at least 25 years old and are in near mint + condition they work just fine.
I have sold approx 10-12 sets of 50 match boxes in past 2 years, matchs are almost gone once their gone their gone just like the Dinosaur. Research Socony Oil these match's are a piece of history. now terminal is being torn down for warehouses. ok have a few boxes of 50 left after that will be selling match books at single match books for 5.00 per match book.

In 1955 the name of the company changed to Socony Mobil Oil; in 1966 became just Mobil Oil.these match's could be older than I said.
