This is a vintage poster from the
Socony-Vacuum Oil Company
to be used in their
MOBIL
service stations to advertise the benefits of using
Mobilgrease
and
Mobiloil "C"
for chassis lubrication protection. Posters like this were usually displayed in garage bays or office windows facing out towards the gas pumps to catch the attention of the public. Being made of paper and in an environment that had grease, exhaust fumes, fading from the Sun and water constantly around, plus nicotine from cigarette smoke, posters didn't last long. But this one did! Measures 42" X 27¾". It was mounted on a foam board and shrink-wrapped to help protect it from anymore damage. It will be carefully removed and rolled up in a mailing tube for mailing.
